Prerequisites

Before reading this article, we recommend reviewing:

Your First Product in 30 Minutes (Yes, Really!) ⏱️

Stop overthinking it! You don't need 50 hours of content to start making money. In the next 30 minutes, you're going to create something real that you can actually sell. Ready? Let's go!

⏰ Set a Timer for 30 Minutes - We're Doing This!

No seriously, set it now. Having a deadline makes magic happen. Your first product doesn't need to be perfect - it needs to EXIST.

First, Let's Kill Your Perfectionism (2 minutes)

Here's the truth bomb you need: Your first product will not be your best product. And that's PERFECT! Think of it as version 1.0. You can always improve it later (and you will, based on real feedback from real customers).

Repeat after me: "Done is better than perfect. My knowledge has value RIGHT NOW."

Step 1: Pick Your Quick Win Topic (3 minutes)

Answer this question: What's one thing you could teach someone in a 30-minute coffee chat?

Quick Product Ideas That Work:

  • ✅ 5 Excel formulas that save me 2 hours a week
  • ✅ My morning routine for productivity
  • ✅ How to take better iPhone photos (3 simple tricks)
  • ✅ Meal prep basics for busy people
  • ✅ Setting up your first Facebook ad
  • ✅ 10-minute meditation for beginners

See the pattern? Small, specific, actionable. Not "Complete Photography Masterclass" - just "Take better selfies with these 3 lighting tricks."

Step 2: Create Your Course Shell (5 minutes)

Alright, let's do this:

  1. Go to CREATE → Courses
  2. Click that beautiful "Create Course" button
  3. Give it a name (don't overthink - you can change it later!)
  4. Write a quick description - just 2-3 sentences about what they'll learn
  5. Upload a cover image (or skip it for now - Selgora has placeholders)
  6. Hit "Save"

Boom! You have a course. Now let's put something in it.

Step 3: Create Your Single Module (2 minutes)

Keep it simple - one module is enough for now!

  1. Click "Add Module"
  2. Name it something clear like "Getting Started" or "The Essentials"
  3. Add a one-line description
  4. Save it

Step 4: Add 3-5 Quick Lessons (15 minutes)

This is where the magic happens. For each lesson:

The 5-Minute Lesson Formula:

  1. Lesson Title: What they'll learn (be specific!)
  2. Quick Intro: Why this matters (2-3 sentences)
  3. The Teaching: Your actual content
    • Record a 3-5 minute video with your phone (just talk to the camera!)
    • OR write 300-500 words
    • OR upload a simple PDF you already have
  4. Action Step: One thing they should do right now

Real Example - "Better iPhone Photos" Mini-Course:

  • Lesson 1: "The Rule of Thirds" (3-min video showing the grid)
  • Lesson 2: "Finding Good Light" (5-min video near a window)
  • Lesson 3: "Simple Editing in Photos App" (Screen recording)
  • Lesson 4: "Your Photo Assignment" (Text lesson with examples)

Total creation time: 20 minutes. Value to student: Huge!

Step 5: Publish That Bad Boy! (3 minutes)

  1. Review your course (quickly! don't obsess!)
  2. Toggle the "Published" switch to ON
  3. Set a price (start with $17-47 for a mini-course)
  4. Save everything

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS! You Just Created Your First Product!

Look at you! While others are still "planning" their course for months, you actually DID IT. Your knowledge is now packageable, sellable, and valuable.

Your "Make It Better" List (For Later!)

After you make your first sale (not before!), you can improve:

  • Add more lessons based on student questions
  • Create downloadable worksheets or templates
  • Record higher quality videos
  • Add a bonus module
  • Create a community discussion area

Common "But What If..." Fears (And Why They're BS)

"But my content isn't good enough!"

Says who? If you know something that helps someone save time, make money, or solve a problem, it's good enough. Your version 1 is better than their version 0.

"But I'm not an expert!"

You don't need to be the world's #1 expert. You just need to be a few steps ahead of your students. Your fresh perspective as someone who recently learned this stuff is actually valuable!

"But what if no one buys?"

Then you'll learn what they actually want and create that next. But you can't learn anything from a product that doesn't exist. Ship it!

"But I need professional videos!"

No, you need HELPFUL videos. People buy transformation, not production value. Phone videos with good content beat fancy videos with fluff every time.

Ready for the Next Step?

Great job getting this far! Let's keep the momentum going.
